Baja Mexico Casita
After purchasing an acre in Pescadero, between Cabo and Todos Santos, this semi-retired couple was ready to begin construction of their future retirement compound. Phase one was a one-bedroom casita which would give them a place to stay when they’re ready to build the next phase, the main house and finally the pool. This project involved exterior construction materials such as stone, breezeblock and tile. It also involved interior finishes and furnishings. We sourced some from the US but items like tables, art, dishes and linens were purchased from local artisans in Baja. The owners wanted a local connection in a very creative, distinct, simple and organic way. The casita is now a soft spot to land in a new country where they can ease into their next season, building a deeper connection to the people, land and culture of Mexico.
